We are living in an era, where ‘instant’ has become the buzzword. Everyone wants everything instantly. Waiting is getting outdated. Today, ‘Slow and Steady’ is no more the trend, but ‘Fast and Furious’ attracts all. The faster something reaches you, the more likely it is to get accepted and appreciated. We are just a click away from everything. Distance has decreased, speed has increased, comfort has increased and so have our wants and desires.
Undoubtedly, we are benefited from it. Infact, there are thousands of Pros. But, at the same time something very important is deteriorating. That is ‘PATIENCE’. We are losing patience. We are so acquainted to getting everything at the very same moment that we are not ready to wait or rather we do not have the patience to wait.
People want instant food, instant payments, instant answers, even instant success, and almost everything instantly. It’s like we plant a seed today and want the fruits the very same day. When something doesn’t happen instantly, we lose hope and wonder whether that is going to happen ever or not. What we need to understand is that everything doesn’t come with a tag ‘Instant’.
Nowadays, we don’t even have the patience to know someone’s complete story, just by hearing a part, we make assumptions and even give conclusions to other’s story.
Getting used to the word ‘Instant’ too much will lead us to a situation called ‘Myopia’ or ‘Short-sightedness’. We will definitely get happiness but for a short span of time. But what about long run? The answer is only ‘Patience’. Patience can only help in getting to the top, crossing difficulties and winning the world.
Patience is one of the most powerful instruments of success. With this, comes calmness and stability of mind, with which success is sure to be achieved. And something achieved with patience will give utmost satisfaction and long-lasting happiness. As correctly said “Patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet”.
